Google Earth Scavenger Hunt
General Instructions
- Work in pairs
- Begin at Scavenger Hunt #1 below.
- Open the quiz page on one computer. Don't close it until you've completed the quiz.
- Open Google Earth on the other computer.
- Look for the items on the quiz. When you find one, answer the quiz number, then click the arrow to go to the next item.
- When you finish with one quiz, you can move on to another quiz.
- Complete the "Finish Hunt Task".
HINTS for all Hunts
- When given Longitude and Latitude, type exactly as you see it.
- You may need to "Zoom" in or out to see labels of countries, oceans, etc.
- To turn on Longitude/Latitude Grid: View/Grid or CTRL+L
- You may need to "Zoom" way in to view the item on the screen to answer the question.
Example
- 39 37 25 N, 107 38 07 W will take you to a Giant Spider Web. (Zoom in to see it)

- Quiz Page - use this webpage to find animals on the globe. Answer the questions to check to see if you are right.
Hunt #3 - Finding Animals B
- Quiz Page - use this webpage to find animals on the globe. Answer the questions to check to see if you are right.
Finish Hunt Task
- Final Task & Evaluation - fill out the form (one per pair) and click "submit" at the bottom when you are done.
