1.  This week is National Library Week.  The theme is "Communities thrive @ your library."  What kinds of communities thrive at Grant School's library?  Consider the definition of community we used at Walker Creek.  This is a purely creative assignment--think big, think deep, think broad.  Create a Tux Paint image and imbed it on a Word Document that is titled National Library Week (with the theme) and a sentence or 2 about the community you've represented.

2) IS THIS FINISHED?  THERE ARE 15 LISTED IN THE BOOK REVIEW FOLDER.  IS YOURS ONE OF THEM?  Book Review Part 2: Go to the student wiki.  Create your own page using the template: Book Review with TuxPaint Illustration.  Title your wiki page with your book title and your name.  Replace all the <xyz> instructions with information.  Do you remember how to add your TuxPaint drawing?  Is it ready for students to comment?

3) Browse through the Book Reviews.  Are there any you can comment on?  Practice your appropriate, complete academic commenting.  Proofread before allowing the comment to post.

3.  Then go to enVision math.  When you log in, it will say that you have an assignment.  Click on the Premium button to access your assignments.  You can choose to watch the video or go straight to the quiz.  Please quiz on all four lessons.

4.  Finished?  Go to Past Lab Assignments to check for unfinished work.  If you are all caught up go to Typing, Math Facts in a Flash or Library of Virtual Manipulatives.

Carefully read the interview with Robert Harris (he wrote the Old Jim Croaker story).  Remember what we talked about in class, "a summary is a shortened, unique version of the original material."  Paraphrasing is just changing the language around.  Summarizing is turning the information into a unique version of the original.
