Wow! We are getting close to our goals. We've had one student read over 1,000,000 (1 Million) words this summer. Check out our progress. Click on the picture below.

Here are a couple of fun writing programs. If you really like one, send me a note about which program you used, your writing project, any why you liked it -- perhaps it can be used during the school year. You must have your parents permission to use these tools and their email address.
Try the story starters. Lots of fun!
I made the comic from the flyer (see page 2) we sent home using this tool.
If you've found another appropriate writing tool for school, send me a note about it. I'll need the name or the web address. Please tell me why you think it is appropriate.

I'm a little late posting this week, but here is the latest....

Not sure about you, but I couldn't get into the Renaissance Learning website until this evening.
I just wanted to congratulate all you students who are reading (and those who can practice their math facts). We are over half of the way to the number of words you estimated to read this summer. (For those who are having problems getting into the Math Facts In A Flash, I hope to have this solved by the end of the week.) There are also 89 students signed up for one or more of the programs.
Don't forget to vote for the color chage in last week's posting. You can also figure out what other change I've made to the website as well.
Now, to some additional activities...math, I think.
On the math page, I put a few a few math facts practice websites. Some have a lot of ads...sorry about that.
Still looking for a reading list? Check out some of the following:

- IndieBound Book list for Kids (I picked up the paper version at Copperfields) - You can search by age group (little links under the row of book covers.) These titles are newer, so they may not have quizzes yet. You can search for quizzes by title, but also for those added in the last 7 days (or other timeline) in ARBookFinder.

Okay, I've changed the color scheme of the website. Did you notice? Do you like it? Vote all during the month of July.
I also added another small item to the overall design of the website. Hint: it has to do with icons and favorites. If you figure it out, send me a note. (Ask your mom or dad first. Include your parent's email address, Type "Figured it out" in the subject box and your name and the other new design item in the comment box.
Below is a really fun website focusing on reading. Check it out. There are lots of things to do and learn at the site.
