Snails, Snails, Snails!

We now have some wonderful snail pets to take care of and study! The kids have already learned about their body structures and how they help the snail survive! Watch the movie on Brain Pop about mollusks and take the quiz~

We had such a blast doing our Snail Race last Friday. Each pair of children had their own snail to race!! We all cheered and cheered!!

Then, we calculated after two heats of races, that our snail move about 1 inch per 13 seconds!! Talk about slow-motion!!!

Adaptations and Environments

We are making posters of six different environments and the organisms that live there! We also are learning about each organism's adaptation to their environment!! For example, did you know that the Desert Tortoise can go for long period of time with no water at all?
