About This Website

Page history last edited by Ginny Mason 4 mos ago

This website is a "wiki" by definition.  It is an everchanging resource for Grant staff and students to deliver currculum, organize information and communicate between school and home.  It was conceived out of the need to enable students to access websites without having to have "type the URL" into the address bar--an activity that even adults have problems completing in a reasonable timeframe and without frustration.

This website was developed for:

  1. Centralizing web-based and other integrated curriculum for students
  2. Bridging school-to-home learning and school-to-home communications
  3. Staff training
  4. Staff to staff communication and collaborative work

This website is not a replacement for:

  • Grant School Website - for "propective families"
  • Grant PTA Webstie (also integrated into the school website) - for Grant families and school events, fundraising and other information

As part of this website, Grant has developed a Technology Plan and a set of Digital Literacy Skills for students.  This website is used to teach student some of the skills in addition to being an instructional, homework and reseach tool.

As of the 2009-2010 year, this website is now in its third year.
